At a very tender age Dwijen chanced upon a film poster of ‘DEVI’ of the legendary film maker Satyajit Ray and expressed an idea which the great director marveled at and predicted his future as an artist. Later, in the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, Dwijen achieved a brilliant academic record topping in all.
Years in Visual Art : In advertising and marketing communications Dwijen created award winning designs and three dimensional works in exhibition, murals and promotional displays for private as well as public sector.
Fascinated with human beings and probing different status of human life especially of women, Dwijen’s canvas made several journeys to make her portrayal with incisive expressions. The figurative compositions elaborated in water colours express the unheeded, unspoken and unsung.
Currently serving as Secretary of Calcutta Painters group, a premier group consisting of senior and young artists of Kolkata. Organized several shows of the group in Kolkata anf other states and abroad.
Speciality : Large water colours on Tussar Paper and Canvas and large canvas and also experimented in mixed media.
